March 21, 2011
On March 11, 2011, a massive earthquake occurred in the Tohoku region of Japan. Below is a list of the effects this disaster had on our company's facilities.
- 1.Locations that were affected:
- Tochigi Plant - 1383 Dosawa, Nikko-shi, Tochigi Prefecture.
- Tochigi #2 Plant - 1567-23 Kiwadajima, Nikko-shi, Tochigi Prefecture.
- Iwate Plant - 30 Miyanowaki, Sagota-aza, Fujisawa-cho, Higashi-Iwai-gun, Iwate Prefecure.
- 2.Damages to Production sites and Sales Offices:
- The Iwate Plant suffered the most damage from the quake. At present, the factory is unable to fulfill standard production orders, and production has been temporarily halted. However, all employees are working together in order to fully comprehend the damage and thus promptly bring the factory back to speed.
- The damage at Tochigi and Tochigi #2 plants was very minor, and repairs have already been implicated. However, production still suffers due to Tokyo Electric Power Company's scheduled black-outs affecting the plant.
- 3.Damages to employees and operators:
- We have confirmed that all employees of Daisho Denshi are accounted for and healthy. However, some employees originally from, or commuting from the areas affected by the tsunami have been still unable to contact family members. We are currently investigating this situation.
We would like to thank everyone for their heartfelt encouragement, and feel the need to apologize to all of our valued customers for inconveniences caused by this natural disaster.
